Product information "Lungo Intenso"
As its name suggests, this lung is very intense and powerful. The characteristic of this combination of Indian Robusta and Indonesian Arabica is its strongly spicy taste,
which harmonizes with the notes of black nougat and licorice. Its strong character is further underlined by a particularly long and dark drum roast. Lungo Intenso is ideal for (vegetable) latte creations.
Wet hull process
Our Indonesian coffee is prepared using the traditional "wet hull" process. It works like this:
1. Ripe coffee cherries are washed and peeled mechanically.
2. Fermentation in closed tanks.
3. Wash again.
4. Dry the coffee in clean parchment to approximately 30% humidity.
5. The parchment skin is removed mechanically.
6. The still wet green coffee is dried (to about 12% humidity).
As the climate of Sumatra in Indonesia is very humid, the parchment layer is removed early so that the coffee can dry more quickly . This treatment in combination with the Indonesian terroir
creates the typical taste of “wet-shell Sumatra”: spicy and earthy notes with lots of body and reduced acidity. This makes this coffee a perfect component of our Lungo Intenso.
