Most people agree that what makes a salad delicious is the dressing. And those who think that there is either Cesear vinaigrette or a classic vinegar and oil vinaigrette are very mistaken. Of course, eating salad in this way can quickly become boring and healthy eating is thrown off the table again. It's time to add some variety to your salad creations! This is precisely why you should try this: A coffee balsamic vinegar. Just mix a little balsamic vinegar with espresso and you're done. Your salad immediately becomes more interesting. This vinaigrette is particularly suitable for lamb's lettuce, preferably with nuts, tomatoes and mozzarella or burrata, and especially in combination with fruits such as figs or nectarines. Here is an example recipe:

Ingredients

  • 150g of lamb's lettuce
  • 70g of burrata
  • 70g small tomatoes
  • 1/4 cucumber
  • pepper or salt with herbs
  • a few grapes/figs or 1 nectarine
  • approx. 8 walnuts or hazelnuts of your choice
  • 1 espresso (recommendation: Espresso Fortissimo)

Preparation

Wash and dry the salad, peel the cucumber. Cut the tomatoes and cucumber into cubes. Prepare an espresso. Pour a little balsamic vinegar into a small bowl and add the coffee by tablespoonfuls. Here you can find, depending on your tastes, the optimal proportion of coffee and balsamic vinegar so that both flavors come together well. A 1:1 ratio can be used as a guideline. Cut the burrata into pieces. Toast the nuts a little in a pan and then roughly chop them. Cut the fruit into slices. Finally, gather the vegetables and season them with pepper or herb salt, add the burrata and walnuts and pour the vinaigrette over the salad at the end.
