This coffee and chocolate smoothie bowl is totally refreshing and refined. The banana and yogurt give it an extra creamy consistency and the combination of coffee and chocolate is simply a dream. Whether for breakfast or as a snack, this bowl will certainly be the meal of the day that you can definitely look forward to.

Preparation time

For 1 person


  • 1 frozen banana (preferably sliced)
  • 1 espresso (try for example Red Espresso)
  • 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder
  • approx. 80g skyr or yogurt (also vegan)
  • Toppings as desired, e.g. granola, cocoa nibs, puffed amaranth or quinoa, nuts or seeds, fruit, homemade coffee and chocolate sauce (see below)
  • possibly a little (vegetable) milk


Pour the espresso over the frozen banana, add the cocoa powder and the yogurt and mix everything using a blender or hand blender until you obtain a smooth mass. Optionally add a little milk, depending on the desired consistency. Pour the mass into a bowl and garnish the smoothie bowl with cocoa nibs, nuts, granola and fruit.
